I've been dreaming of a soil thermometer lately and I still might get one but, I just found a link with current and 5-day soil temperature maps by region!! Should I trust this? Its been really warm the past 3 days, will the soil cool off again?
Looks like its warm enough to plant my snap bean seeds and maybe even tomatoes but....probably better not to push it.

Cool site - tried my region. Since it was Florida, the temp was just hot. Forcast: hot.
I've not seen a map like this, but for our area, it's pretty accurate. I actually put a thermometer down into the soil so that I know when its okay to plant my dahlias and caladiums.
Too bad the map doesn't extend farther north. Am at Yorkton Sk,Canada
I don't know if you can trust this because I haven't tried it. Maybe you should give it a try.
